The project for the Library of Birmingham (www.libraryofbirmingham.com) started in March 2011. Previously the Library had only a few pages on the web, hosted by the website of the City of Birmingham.
Today it is a 1000 page website managed by about 5 content managers. In terms of performance, the website boasts 3500 contacts/hour with a response time below one second per page. The website is based on less than 10 main templates, with some variants. The data model was developed in about two months, and the project was managed by 2 consultants plus internal developers.
One of the most important architecture innovations that we introduced in this project was the use of the asynchronous connections with some back-end systems (first of all, search and socials) which provide a very high performance of the whole website.
The project for Telmore (www.telmore.dk) started in September 2012. Previously the company, which is the second largest mobile service provider in Denmark, used an old Fatwire release, that was considered not robust enough to support business targets. The first step was to upgrade Fatwire to 11g. Then new systems were installed and configured, while we initiated a process of performance optimization.
We gave support to content managers for one year and developed services based on Json for mobile applications
Since 2013 Telmore has been using AgileSites to develop applications, which is mainly managed by internal software engineers supported by two of our specialists.
Contents are managed by about 10 content managers and the website has about 2.000 pages. The target is to support about 3.500 hit/hour with a peak, at the beginning of the month, of about 10.000 hit/hour. The performance guarantee is represented by the possibility to reach every page in less than one second.
The website is based on few templates with good graphics. It took 3 months on-site and about one year off-site to develop the project.
The project for KPN (www.kpn.com) started in November 2012. Previously the company, which is the first telecom provider in the Netherlands, used a CMS named GX. Some of our consultants gave their contribution to the first release of the project, that was managed partially internally and partially with the help of an international consultancy company.
In May 2013 we joined and directed an Agile team that built a new application using AgileSites, Scrum methodology and many Agile practices for software development. This team applied SitesBuilder, a tool based on Ansible for system configuration and management.
Contents are managed by about 20 content managers and the website has about 1.500 pages. The performance guarantee is represented by the possibility to reach every page in less than one second. The website is solidly connected to back-end systems, for which we designed an asynchronous interface.
